Assisted living “waiver program” opens doors for local residential care facility to limited income seniors.

Ivy House Residential Care is nestled in a tree-line neighborhood near down town Painesville is the newest assisted living facility in Lake County to become certified for the Assisted Living Waiver Program.  The Assisted Living Waiver Program, (which eligible applicants can access through the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging), pays the costs of care in an Assisted Living facility.

As one enters our Century Home they will feel the coziness and comforts of home.  Our staff is friendly and personable and focuses on the residents’ individual needs, such as, assistance with eating, bathing, grooming and medication supervision.  Some of our services include laundry, housekeeping, plus hair and nail salon. The facility provides accommodations for private, semi-private and triple rooms at competitive rates; in addition to the limited Medicaid Approved rooms.

            Michelle Gil, the Administrator of Ivy House, said “we are very excited to be able to participate in a program that can make it available to our local seniors in need of residential care, who would not otherwise be able to receive 24 hour quality care and assistance by a licensed staff; while being able to remain in a home-like atmosphere”.

v      Currently receiving Medicaid or qualified to receive Medicaid.

v      Medicaid financial requirements are met for income. (Guidelines provided on Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services).

v      Requires intermediate home health care.

v      Individual must have resources available to pay current room and board.

v      Assisted Living qualifications can be assessed by calling the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging Intake Department at 216-621-0303 or www.ohioaging.org.
